Updated: 2009-11-13 06:00:17
Bringing the excitement of Memphis’ 3rd Annual Cooper Yeshiva High School Invitational into the homes of people across the nation, Tournament Director, Josh Kahane, announced today that this year’s event will offer a 16 team Bracket-CHALLENGE. Similar to the NCAA Braceketology that captivates college basketball fans during the month of March, the 2009 Bracket-CHALLENGE will allow bracket-eers to select the Tier I Championship game; Tier I Champion; Tier I Championship Game total points scored; Tier II Championship game; Tier II Champion; and Tier II Championship Game total points scored; from one of the most competitive invitational fields in the country.

With Metropolitan Yeshiva High School League powerhouses Ramaz (Rank 1), Heschel (2); HANC (4), Northshore (9), and Yeshivat Derech HaTorah (15), perennial National Top 25’ers Tarbut v’Torah (4), Stern Hebrew High School (17) and Cooper Yeshiva (25), and nationally recognized squads from Columbus Torah Academy, Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy, Yeshiva Atlanta, Shalhevet – Los Angeles, Hillel of Miami, American Hebrew Academy, Moshe Aaron Yeshiva High School, and Weinbaum Boca, bracket-eers will certainly be challenged as they complete their Championship brackets.

A full description of the Tournament format and scoring system is posted on the Cooper Invitational Web-HQ’s Bracket-CHALLENGE page at www.cooperinvitational.com.

Tournament seeding and the release of the bracket will take place the first week of December. All brackets must be submitted by 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 17, 2009.

After tip-off on December 17, reports indicating the leading brackets with best point totals will be updated on the Web-HQ nightly. There is no fee to enter and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place brackets.

During the event, bracket-eers may follow the action by turning in to the live game broadcasts and visiting the Web-HQ for scores, news feeds, and stats.
