Joe Aaron scored 20 points, including 16 in the second half and overtime, as the DRS Wildcats topped the SAR Sting 55-54 to win the Magen David Preseason Tournament, in memory of Elliot Torkieh A’H.
Seth Weiss paced SAR with 28 points and Ari Halpert added 12.
The Wildcats overcame a sluggish start and ended the opening quarter on a 10-2 run to tie SAR at 19.
The game was back and forth the rest of the way, with DRS holding a 1-point lead at the half and a 4-point cushion at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Weiss was the second leading scorer in the tournament at just over 19 points per game and Aaron averaged 16 per game.
