The Cooper Invitational tournament in Memphis is the unofficial start to the national Jewish Hoops America season. And while the 13th annual tournament is October 31 through November 3, the momentum starts building this Sunday with the highly anticipated Seeding Show.
Tournament Director Josh Kahane will announce the seeds and the opening day matchups live at www.cooperinvitational.com starting at 12 noon Central time - that’s 1 pm on the East Coast and 10 am out west.
In addition to the host Cooper Maccabees, this year’s lineup includes the defending champ Magen David Warriors, last year’s other finalist the Rochelle Zell Tigers and both semifinalists the Posnack Rams and DeToledo Jaguars.
Two teams, the Shaare Torah Yeshiva Stars from Brooklyn and the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams from Kansas, will be playing in the tournament for the first time.
All the games will be broadcast on the tournament website. Tier 1 and Tier 2 will be determined based on the results of the opening round games.
